Los Dramaticos

Paddy and Victor have played music all their life. Hailing from Northern Ireland and Chile respectively, their eclectic musical past incursions include classical and blues piano, French Chanson, music for the theatre, Argentinian Tango and Ugandan Afropop.

Los Dramaticos combine fiery guitar and nimble charango playing with vocals to give traditional songs from the Spanish-speaking repertoire a whole new life. Our influences are varied, including Buena Vista Social Club, Manu Chao, Andean traditional music, Gypsy Kings, flamenco and other Andalusian styles.

As an acoustic duo, their music is said to create " a lively, upbeat atmosphere, where the audience begin to dance in their soul and then often their feet will follow". As a trio or a quartet, we love to add a chilled percussive element to the mix.

Their love for exploring new sounds and collaborations has led Los Dramaticos to set up an expanded version of the band, including prominent jazz musicians from Northern Ireland on piano, trumpet, bass and drums. This larger, jazzier version of the band can often be heard at Bert's Jazz Bar in Belfast and in a number of venues around Northern Ireland. The Dramaticos Big Combo is also available for hire.
